Council appoints Tony Clark to Traffic Commission and directs negotiations for city manager candidate

The Paris City Council appointed Tony Clark to fill the unexpired term on the Traffic Commission after Kimberly McCann resigned. Staff reported Tony Clark applied and requested appointment; a councilmember moved to appoint him and the council approved the appointment by voice vote.
Later in the meeting the council convened in executive session under Texas Government Code §551.074 to deliberate selection of a city manager. After returning to open session, the council discussed the candidates interviewed and a councilmember moved to enter contract negotiations and offer the position of Paris city manager to Grayson Path. The motion was seconded, the chair called the vote and the council voted unanimously to authorize negotiations and extend an offer.
Next steps: staff will conduct contract negotiations with the selected candidate and return to council as appropriate with proposed terms for final approval.
