The Zoning Board of Appeals voted unanimously to authorize the chair of each meeting to approve hearing minutes, a change recommended in a memo from the assistant town administrator and aimed at improving compliance with the Open Meeting Law’s 30-day posting requirement.
Nicole Pare noted that the practice has been used by other panels and that counsel advised the board the Open Meeting Law does not prescribe the method of minutes approval. Board members said the change should make it easier for the public to find minutes online in a timely fashion. The motion passed unanimously.
