The Rules and Ethics Committee on Monday adopted a special order letter setting negotiated time allocations for questions and debate on bills set for special order during the Thursday, March 5 session, Chair Garrison said.
Chair Garrison told members the special order letter was on their desks and that, as required by the rules, negotiated time allocations for questions and debate were included for all bills on special order. "Any questions on the proposed special order letter for Thursday, March 5?" Garrison asked; with no public testimony and no debate, the committee adopted the letter by voice vote.
Garrison also reminded members of filing deadlines for amendments for the Thursday session: main amendments must be submitted to House bill drafting by 3:00 p.m. and approved for filing by 4:00 p.m.; hearing amendments must be submitted by 6:30 p.m. and approved for filing by 7:00 p.m. The chair emphasized those deadlines are fixed in advance of the session so members and staff can prepare.
With no further business, Representative Saroy moved to adjourn; the committee concluded the meeting.
