Staff reported that renovation work at the recreation center is progressing on schedule with demolition underway in some rooms, finishes continuing in phase 1 and the roof nearly complete. "They're on time, and they're where they're supposed to be," a staff member said, and the board noted the project remains targeted for completion in 2025.
The board reviewed its annual report framework for the city council study session on Nov. 12. The staff member clarified the report covers Oct. 2023 through Sept. 2024; the chair said the board included the Farmers Branch mission and vision and will align its presentation to the council's guidelines. The board reported an attendance rate of about 88% during the covered year.
Members asked for any changes to the presentation and discussed logistics for a brief group presentation at the study session. No changes to the renovation timeline were announced at the meeting.
