Lease introduction: staff introduced Amendment No. 1 to the standard lease between the City of Glendale and Babak Golbehar for the Verdugo Job Center facility at 1255 South Central Avenue, proposing an 18-month extension from April 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027. Staff stated the lease rate remains $2.50 per square foot, which staff reported as $58,135 per month and $697,620 annually, and noted the State Employment Development Department pays 57% of the rent; the item was introduced for ordinance consideration.
GWP equipment rental agreements: Glendale Water & Power staff requested and the council approved authorization to enter agreements with three vendors (Precision Aerial Services Inc., Custom Truck 1 Source Inc., and Global Rental Company Inc.) to provide on-call equipment rental services. The initial three-year aggregate not-to-exceed amount is $1,800,000, with options to extend each agreement for two additional one-year terms ($600,000 aggregate per year). Staff said these agreements will improve response times and reduce reliance on external utilities during emergencies.
