Loveland school board approves OSBA policy manual in unanimous roll call

The Loveland City School District Board approved the second reading and adoption of the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) policy manual at its February meeting, the board chair announced.
The move replaces the district’s prior policy set with the OSBA-provided manual once the board’s approval takes effect. A board member noted the draft manual was linked in the meeting agenda and would be the only live policy manual once the board finalizes the change. “If anybody wants to look at it, you can click on it and it’s there,” a committee member said during the discussion.
Board members said the change is partly administrative: counsel had proposed edits since the first reading and the board discussed where the policies will be hosted before making them live. The chair said the switch is timed with a contract transition to OSBA and described the vote as necessary so the handoff can be completed.
The second reading and adoption was approved by roll call; all present members recorded yes votes. The board did not receive public comments on the policy manual during the meeting.
The board will continue policy work in future sessions, identifying specific policy topics it wants to review in more depth at subsequent meetings.
