Hillary (presenter) told the Historical Park Preservation and Restoration Board on Oct. 24 that the grand opening for Venue 1842 is scheduled for Nov. 20 and that invitations and notices will be sent. “The grand opening is scheduled for November 20,” she said.
Board members pressed staff about the building’s remaining punch-list items and the status of a temporary certificate of occupancy. Hillary said contractors are still addressing items and that she would follow up with Lynette for specifics. “I don’t know how far on where on that list they are, but I will get with her, and we will get that update,” she said, adding that the punch list she had seen ran “around 96 pages.”
The chair confirmed the board will request the punch list be shared so members can see whether outstanding items are minor or substantial and whether work requires additional bids or council action. The presenter said staff will provide the punch-list information and noted some corrections range from small finishes to larger repairs.
No formal vote was taken on the venue update. The chair and staff said they will bring any required actions, including potential rebids or council referrals, back to a future meeting once the punch-list review is complete.
The meeting adjourned after additional board business was handled.
