Connellsville board approves donations, personnel actions and budget items

Donations approved included gifts to school clubs and organizations: Bible Club Central Fellowship ($100), Vicky Nyswonger ($200), Church of God ($75), CHS Musical Club (Chris and Denise Aquina, $225), Conswell Mozart Club ($100) and an anonymous donation of $500. Motions to accept the donations were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board approved supplemental staff for the 2025-26 school year (coaches and assistant coaches across varsity and middle school sports) and volunteer spring coaches. Several conditional hires were approved pending successful background checks for substitutes and cafeteria workers. The board also accepted a number of retirements and approved family, medical and disability leaves with effective dates presented during the meeting.
On finance matters, the board approved budget transfers as presented and authorized the district's portion of the Intermediate Unit 1 operating budget of $549,552, which includes the Connellsville contribution of $35,281.48. The board also approved tax requisition and orders and motions to allow district business office processing of purchase orders and payments.
