Council approves consent agenda; hears public-works update and planning-code discussion

The South Weber City Council unanimously approved its February consent agenda at the March 25 meeting and then received updates on capital projects and planning work.
"Hearing no comments, I'll move to approve the consent agenda," one council member said; the chair announced, "Motion passes 5 to 0." The vote concluded the consent-item portion of the agenda.
On the Public Works facility project, staff said construction is progressing and that "August is still what they're aiming for for completion." Staff acknowledged recent progress payments that changed reported budget percentages and said they would work with finance staff to present budget tracking differently in future reports.
On zoning and development code work, planning staff said they are drafting density-bonus language and a potential flex overlay for commercial highway areas. The code changes would tie higher-density allowances to required amenities such as water-retention features, trees, trails and community amenities, and staff said these items would be included as administrative checkoffs for the planning commission but would still come to council where development agreements are required.
Council members briefly reported other items: municipal-utilities updates, an upcoming Easter egg hunt scheduled for April 18 at 6 p.m., and preliminary planning for South Weaver Days in mid-April. The meeting adjourned after a motion to adjourn passed.
