Mount Clemens recognizes Eagle Scout Caleb Mallory and swears in three new firefighters

At the start of Monday’s meeting Mayor Cropp read a certificate recognizing Caleb Mallory for completing an Eagle Scout project that replaced overgrown bushes with a welcome-to-Mount Clemens sign and landscaped area near North River Road and Gratiot. Caleb thanked the commission and family and was congratulated by commissioners.
In the city manager’s report, Mr. Johnson said he signed paperwork for three new firefighters who were sworn in earlier and have begun work; one will be assigned to each of the three shifts. Commissioners thanked the new firefighters and the voters and volunteers who helped with recent city efforts.
The recognitions and staffing announcements were procedural and ceremonial items included in the meeting’s opening and manager’s report.
