The Daggett County Municipal Building Authority on Tuesday approved the April 29, 2025 meeting minutes and accepted the cash summary as of May 2, 2025, and postponed the health clinic bid-opening by one week to 9:00 a.m. on May 13, 2025.
The chair opened the meeting at 9:16 a.m. and, after a motion and second, called for a vote to approve the prior minutes. The motion passed after two recorded "Aye" responses. Later in the meeting a motion and second to accept the cash summary and accounts receivable were likewise carried with two ‘‘Aye’’ votes.
Committee member Jesse said the county is continuing to move the water treatment plant project forward, "they're working out the contract right now and getting ready to build," indicating project teams are preparing for construction.
Staff member described a delay in the clinic project bid posting: an addendum was released late because the third-party contractor that hosts the bid postings "had people out of the office," and contractors requested the posting be pushed back. The chair set the new bid-opening one week from the meeting at 9:00 a.m. on May 13, 2025.
Staff also reported some building-permit fees were charged to the town of Manila and said Manila's mayor will ask the town council whether those fees can be waived so the county would absorb only the plan-check and inspection costs. "She’s gonna get with the town council to see ... about being a good neighbor to us ... to possibly get that ink line removed and waived," the staff member said.
On inspections, staff noted the building inspector is a county employee and that the county’s commercial inspector handles plan checks; the authority may need a memorandum of understanding if it wants to pay inspectors directly for commercial inspections. Committee members questioned which budget line covered inspection costs; staff cited figures including references to $5,500 and $24,000 but did not map those numbers definitively to a particular line item during the discussion.
No members of the public offered comment. With no further business, the chair adjourned the meeting at 9:25 a.m.
