Planning board elects Steven Stroud chair, Susan Denney vice chair; recommends Suzanne Bridal for appointment

After roll call confirmed a quorum, members nominated and voted to elect Steven Stroud as chair and Susan Denney as vice chair; both elections passed unanimously on roll call.
Board members then interviewed applicant Suzanne Bridal. "Again, my name is Suzanne Bridal. I am a resident of Cape Canaveral. I have lived here just under 2 years, formerly lived in New York and had a 25 plus year municipal career with a planning and development office," Bridal said, summarizing her planning-board experience and recent work with Brevard County Public Works as a grant writer/coordinator. Members asked about the scale of the jurisdictions where she had served; she said one city she worked for had about 79,000 people and another hometown had about 15,000.
After questions, a member moved to recommend Bridal for appointment to the planning and zoning board; the motion was seconded and approved by unanimous roll call. The Planner said Bridal is tentatively scheduled to be heard by City Council on Dec. 16 for first reading.
Outcome and next steps: The board’s leadership elections took effect immediately for internal proceedings. The recommendation for Bridal will be forwarded to City Council for consideration on Dec. 16.
