County staff demonstrated a neighborhood development hub on washoecounty.gov that lists early developer outreach meetings, maps and an input QR code; commissioners also announced the Nevada State Fair return and an April public engagement process for CAB bylaws and district maps.
Candy Ramos, a county staff member, demonstrated the county's new neighborhood development hub on washoecounty.gov to the Spanish Springs Citizens Advisory Board. The hub, accessed via the "Get Involved" tab, includes an interactive map of neighborhood meetings, an alphabetical listing of upcoming developer outreach events and a Spanish Springs–specific page with a QR code to provide input and sign up for email updates.
Ramos said the hub is designed to give residents early opportunity to connect with developers and to learn about zoning and small-unit-density meetings; she pointed to an in-person meeting scheduled the following night in the county HR conference room. The site also lists volunteer opportunities such as the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and CASA volunteer openings, and the CAB page will host agendas and notices of openings for boards and commissions.
Commissioner Andrea (introduced earlier in the meeting) gave additional announcements: the Nevada State Fair (Reno Livestock Event Center) is planned for June 11–13 after legislative action (AB 333) returned the fairgrounds to the Department of Agriculture, and a bylaws public-engagement process for the CAB will be rolled out in April with a multi-week comment period. Andrea said district maps for the five commissioner districts will be aligned and brought to the Board of County Commissioners when finalized.
The board encouraged residents to use the QR code and the county website to provide input, and to attend the regional fire services study input session on March 19 and other planned outreach events.
