Jackson showed photos of golf carts, rental chairs and motor coaches stopping on Ridgewood to drop visitors, and said the influx was creating safety and quality‑of‑life problems for adjacent residential neighborhoods.
Interim City Manager John said community development staff were already working the issue and would follow up with Jackson and hotel operators; staff recommended a roundtable to map permitted vendor locations and investigate franchise or permitting gaps.
Council discussed directing staff to contact hotels about where they send guests and to enforce parking and vendor rules, and asked for a staff memo and possible future agenda item on permitting and beach access management.
