Twin Valley board approves intermediate-unit charge, roofing contract and position changes

The Twin Valley School District board voted on a set of administrative and fiscal items during its Feb. 17 meeting, approving the district's estimated share of mandated services, a facilities contract and several personnel and policy actions.
Finance committee staff presented the Berks County Intermediate Unit mandated-services budget and said the district's estimated share is $56,174.01. The board moved, seconded and approved the recommendation from the committee.
On facilities, the board approved a proposal from Weatherproofing Technologies Inc. to replace the roof at Robinson Elementary Center. Trustees discussed timing relative to recent HVAC unit installations and asked staff to pursue grant funding where possible.
Personnel actions approved at the meeting included routine resignations and terminations, approval of new transportation drivers and monitors for the 2024–25 year, and position-control changes that eliminate the assistant-to-the-superintendent/HR director role (effective June 9) and the director of curriculum and instruction (effective April 1) while creating an assistant superintendent position effective April 1. The board moved and passed those measures on roll call.
The board also approved a second reading of board policy 247, authorized administration to post the district comprehensive plan for 28 days (Feb. 18–March 17) as required, and approved a homebound-student request (HB2024202503). The treasurer's operational report, including transfers and lists of bills and fund expenditures, was presented and approved.
All actions reported in the meeting were recorded as motions with votes; where the transcript records roll-call votes the motions passed. No emergency appropriations or large new capital commitments beyond the roofing contract were approved at the meeting.
