Knox County board signs off on $2.49 million in claims, budget line-item changes and per diems

The board also approved opening the budget for line-item changes and later approved specific line-item adjustments covering the sheriff general fund, judicial, and GIS accounts. A separate roll-call vote approved per diem and mileage claims for committee meetings totaling $3,470.18.
Members discussed the manual checks and noted a significant portion was related to election judge payouts. The board also approved an invoice application to MSI for $34,338.42 related to the jail laundry and medical build-out; the original contract amount was cited as $415,040 with retainages and a remaining finish balance of $77,542.19. Votes on each motion were recorded during the meeting.
The next regular board meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 6 p.m. at Galesburg City Hall Council Chambers.
