Board approves multiple roadway projects and MFT resolutions, including Lynn Township box culvert

The Knox County Board on May 28 approved a package of roadwork-related items including MFT (motor fuel tax) resolutions, material bids and a local agency agreement for a roughly 4.5-mile resurfacing/reconstruction project.
Infrastructure chair Bondi (speaker 13) said the local agency agreement covers about 4.5 miles of road with average daily traffic above 1,000 vehicles. He described the funding structure for the project as approximately 80% federal participation with the local share covering the remainder.
The board approved multiple township and material bids under the county’s highway and MFT programs. For Lynn Township, the board recorded the lowest box-culvert bid of $260,004.49 submitted by Phoenix Corporation of the Quad Cities; the engineering estimate for that project was $243,008.60. For Victoria Township, material purchases and MFT support were also approved as budgeted.
Votes were taken by roll call on the separate resolutions and awards and recorded as passing during the meeting.
