Committee forwards minutes, two e‑waste vendor agreements and other routine items to full board

At its Feb. 25 meeting the Grundy County Land Use Committee handled multiple routine items and forwarded several resolutions and motions to the full county board.

Minutes: The committee approved the minutes from the Dec. 17, 2025 Land Use Committee meeting (motion by James; second by Georgette) by voice vote.

E‑waste vendor agreements: Staff summarized two vendor agreements for the county's biannual electronic‑waste events. The first resolution is to approve an agreement with RLGA Recyclers of eWaste (Wisconsin); staff said RLGA coordinates with the Illinois EPA and carries required liability insurance, and noted a contractual minimum shipment weight that will rise from 17,000 to 18,000 pounds in 2027. The committee moved and seconded the recommendation (motion by James; second by Laura) and approved forwarding it to the full board.

The second resolution concerns an agreement with A Team e‑waste (Shorewood). Staff said A Team handles event packing and live loads to its Shorewood facility and has charged roughly $7,000 per event for several years. The committee approved that resolution as well (moved by Eric; second by Jeff) and recommended it to the full board.

Other routine items: Chair handled departmental business, future agenda items, and special assignments; one member reported a meeting scheduled for March 19. The committee adjourned by voice vote after approving the day’s motions (adjournment motion moved by James; second by Laura).

What happens next: All recommended resolutions and routine actions will appear on the full Grundy County Board agenda on March 14 for final action.
