Committee advances two assessor coordinator job descriptions to personnel

The supervisor said the coordinators would oversee workflow between the office’s two main “sides” — field appraisers and assessment/technical staff — and would coordinate with township assessors to reduce surprises during posting and review. The positions are intended to be added on top of current staff rather than replace existing roles.
Committee members discussed staffing levels (the supervisor said the office currently has five employees, where 10 had been typical) and the plan to route job descriptions through personnel and finance for review before final approval. The committee approved motions to forward both job descriptions to the personnel committee: the property tax coordinator motion was moved by Georgette and seconded by Laura; the field appraiser coordinator motion was moved by Matt and seconded by Laura.
Next steps: personnel will review the job descriptions and responsibilities, finance will evaluate cost and funding, and the positions will be considered for hiring in sequence (property tax coordinator first, then field appraiser coordinator).
