The Grundy County Board of Health approved three sets of claims and received a financial report showing subsidy use and revenue variances.
The board approved November 2025 claims of $2,782.50, December 2025 claims of $20,148.39, and January 2026 claims of $15,805.50 — a combined total of $38,736.39 — each by voice vote.
Shelly, who presented the financial reports, said the fiscal year ended with approximately $384,000 of subsidy used, about 10% over the amount originally budgeted. She reported November receipts from the TB fund ($2,500), nursing revenue (about $8,800), environmental health revenue (about $2,800) and roughly $14,000 to the senior division from the community care program. For December she said the department had used about 8% of the subsidy for FY26 to date and cited revenue and expense variances driven by payroll timing and increased inspections.
Shelly also listed grant receipts including WIC and the Illinois Tobacco Free Communities program and noted a $350 donation to the Tony Brandolino Fund.
During discussion a board member said a federal cut removed some awarded funding for an Advancing Grundy grant before the county could spend it; staff said they would continue to investigate and asked to be kept informed.
Board members asked whether grants or Medicaid funds were at risk; staff said they had not seen indications of immediate risk. After discussion the board approved the financial report by voice vote.
The meeting continued with an informational new-business update on the FY2026 DEA registrant form and adjourned later in the agenda.
