The Chair called the Grundy County Zoning Board of Appeals to order on Jan. 20, 2026, approved the Dec. 16, 2025 minutes and, after brief procedural discussion, unanimously tabled three agenda items until Feb. 17, 2026.
The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and a roll call conducted by the Clerk. The Chair noted the published agenda was incorrect but said the minutes for Dec. 16, 2025, were correct; a Committee member moved to approve the minutes and the motion passed with the board responding "Aye."
The board then took up an "official business text amendment to clarify solar farm code requirements for special use." The Clerk stated that the petitioner had requested the item be postponed, and the board voted to table the text amendment to the Feb. 17 meeting.
Two subsequent agenda items related to a water treatment facility were also tabled. The Clerk said petition 25ZBA02, filed for a special use for the Maison Water Treatment Facility, required proper notification from the petitioner and asked that the item be tabled. The board moved, seconded and voted to table 25ZBA02 to the Feb. 17 meeting.
The board then addressed petition 25ZBA029, described as a variance for the Mizzon Water Treatment Plant setbacks. A Committee member moved to table the petition to Feb. 17; the motion was seconded and passed.
There was no old business or new business reported. A Committee member moved to adjourn at 7:05 p.m.; the motion was seconded and carried. The Clerk announced the next meeting will be Feb. 17, 2026.
All motions recorded in the meeting were procedural (approval of minutes, tabling items, adjournment); no substantive debate or final substantive decisions on the matters occurred at this meeting.
