Knox County commissioners approve landfill post‑closure care, bridge inspections, road contracts and pooled funds

The commission approved payment No. 1 to Smalls Asphalt Paving for $244,804.89 as part of the county's annual asphalt paving program (the overall program value cited in the presentation was just over $2 million). The board also awarded an OPWC road resurfacing contract for Michie Road to Smalls for $783,191.65, described as approximately $50,000 under the engineer’s estimate.
Separately, commissioners approved pooled local funds totaling $60,000 for the Knox County Family and Children First Council (four partners to contribute $15,000 each: Knox County Department of Job and Family Services, Knox County Board of DD, Mental Health and Recovery Board for Knox and Licking counties, and Knox County Juvenile Court). The commission approved a records/document destruction quote for Knox County Job and Family Services for $9,396.56.
