Knox County commissioners approve Martinsburg water payments, several broadband draws and adopt midyear budget rates

At the Sept. 30 meeting, commissioners moved to approve multiple grant draw requests and contract payments tied to county infrastructure projects and accepted midyear budget rates.

Jason moved and commissioners seconded a draw request for the Martinsburg Water Improvement Project in the amount of $125,629 under the State of Ohio Office of Community Development process; the motion carried on a voice vote. The board also approved a $100,000 CDBG draw for KN Excavating and a separate payment application to KN Excavating for $378,256.75 for the Martinsburg project — all motions were made, seconded and passed by recorded in‑meeting voice assent.

The board additionally approved several Mercury Broadband items, including fiber work on Gilchrist Road and Old Greensville Road; motions and seconds were recorded and the items passed by voice vote. Commissioners then adopted the auditor’s midyear budget rates to complete the midyear budget process; the auditor had already approved the underlying adjustments.
