Commissioners approve ODOT grant authorization, certify delinquent utility accounts and permit utility work

In routine business after the opioid-grant discussion, Knox County Commissioners approved several administrative items on Nov. 4: they authorized the transit director to execute and file Ohio Department of Transportation grant documents; approved certification of 10 delinquent water and wastewater accounts for submission to the Knox County Auditor for collection; and approved a utility permit for an energy cooperative to perform work on Amity Road in Berlin Township.
Each item was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the transcript records motions and seconds but does not include a roll-call tally. County staff will file the ODOT forms and deliver the certification packet to the auditor. The board also announced a vehicle/service center ribbon-cutting planned for Nov. 18 and noted the service center will open to the public Monday, Nov. 10, with some automatic-door hardware still pending installation.
The meeting closed with an adjournment and reminders for residents to vote on Election Day.
