College Station commission recommends updated economic development master plan after hours of questions on housing and identity

The College Station Planning and Zoning Commission on Feb. 19 recommended that city council adopt an updated Economic Development Master Plan designed as a five-year roadmap to diversify the local economy and strengthen innovation-led growth.
Brian Pyschoczak, assistant director of economic development and tourism for the city, introduced the item and said the plan—prepared with TIP Strategies—was the product of months of stakeholder engagement. John Karas of TIP Strategies described a strategic framework built around four goal areas: identity, industry, innovation and ignition (implementation).
