Nassau Bay council approves dialysis-site rezoning, new water rates and $1.4 million in infrastructure contracts

The Nassau Bay City Council on a unanimous vote approved several major land-use, utility and infrastructure items in its regular meeting, including a rezoning to permit a two-story dialysis clinic with ground-floor retail, final adoption of revised water and sewer rates, and contract awards for stormwater and waterline replacements.

The council approved Ordinance 2024-0909-C on its second and final reading to reclassify 0.5022 acres at the southwest corner of Nassau Road 1 and Upper Bay Road (1910 E. Nassau Road 1) from Commercial C to Planned Unit Development, allowing a two-story building with dialysis services and retail beneath. Mayor (role used as recorded in the meeting) described the site as the former Shell station and said the plan would be “a very good addition to the city.” The motion passed 7-0.
