At the March 2 Souders—Souderton Borough Council meeting a representative of Whitetail Disposal introduced herself and offered to assist as the borough prepares to put its municipal trash and recycling contract out to bid.
“Introduce myself, make myself available, for any questions you have as you're putting through the RFP,” the vendor said, noting the industry has changed since the borough last bid its contract roughly five years ago. Council confirmed a town hall to discuss the trash contract and solicit resident input is scheduled for March 23, 7–9 p.m., at borough hall. The manager said the spring newsletter has been printed, toll-pass sales have exceeded $12,000 since launch, and the borough issued an RFP for auditing services with responses due by email.
The town hall is intended to solicit resident preferences on single-hauler versus choice models and to surface operational issues the council should consider while drafting the RFP. No procurement decisions were made at the meeting; the RFP process and the public engagement session will inform upcoming council deliberations.
