Corinne council: sewer project bids set, residents warned of temporary irrigation interruptions

The Corinne City Council said bids for a planned sewer project will open March 5 and a pre-construction meeting is scheduled this week, and Mayor Shane Bacon warned that construction will temporarily disrupt irrigation for some residents.

Bacon told the council that contractors will use staging areas across town and that crews will have to pull irrigation lines in several three-block sections to install sewer mains. "There's one section where three city blocks are going to be pulling the irrigation out to do the sewer, and then they'll put it right back in," he said, adding that disruptions could last "maybe a week, maybe two weeks" for properties in the work zone.

The council discussed logistics for contractor staging and parking; Bacon noted that truck parking currently used by local drivers will be displaced by materials and equipment and asked staff to notify residents in advance. Kendra Norman confirmed a pre-construction meeting is planned for this Thursday for contractors and bidders seeking details.

Why it matters: residents who rely on irrigation should expect intermittent outages through the construction period and plan accordingly. Bacon said the city will notify the public when work will affect specific neighborhoods and that the timing is expected to begin shortly after the contract is awarded.
