Planning director updates commission on council actions, TxDOT delays and upcoming cases

At the Jan. 14 meeting the Planning Director updated the commission on recent City Council and staff activity: City Council approved a business park project before the holidays; the Anderson Town Crossing project has been put on hold by the applicant because TxDOT held up a needed approval; and staff approved two administrative plats (one on Fairway Lane and one on East 9th).
The Planning Director also previewed upcoming items: Tennyson Crossing (a townhome subdivision) requires a detention‑pond redesign that staff reviewed; a special use permit application expected in February would allow an agricultural equipment storage structure on future development land and proposed the use of shipping containers (the code currently prohibits use of containers so the special use is needed); staff emphasized that agency approvals (particularly TxDOT) and civil design will determine timing for final plats and permits.
Commissioners had no substantive objections to the report and the Chair welcomed Wade Clark as a new commissioner.
