Karen Bogdanowicz, vice president of the Junior Livestock Show foundation, outlined the program and noted last year's event included 94 exhibitors and the sale of 69 animals, producing roughly 29,895 pounds of meat protein and scholarship benefits to youth participants. "We are here to ask for the $7,500 to help support the Churchill County Junior Livestock Show," Bogdanowicz said.
Organizers explained the AgMEC program added craft and vocational entries and the show provides scholarships and local food supply benefits. Commissioners asked questions, received no public opposition, and voted to award the requested funds; staff and organizers took a photograph with board members after the vote.
The contribution was approved as part of the board’s consent on resource support for youth agricultural programs and will be included in the county’s FY2026 disbursement schedule.
