Lake County commissioners approve change order, appointments and finance items

At its meeting, the Lake County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of routine resolutions and administrative actions.
County staff read and the board approved a change order and final for the Lake County Road Resurfacing Project 2025 with Shelley Company that reduced the contract amount by $137,732.05 (LCE project no. 2024-009). The utilities department’s resolution terminating a cooperative agreement with Madison Township for the North Ridge sanitary sewer extension project was likewise approved.
The board certified unpaid water and sewer sums and associated administrative charges to the Lake County Auditor, appointed Angela R. Schmidt to complete a five-year term on the Lake Metropolitan Housing Authority Board of Commissioners (term ending Nov. 14, 2028), and acknowledged Madison Township trustee Joe White’s selection to the 911 program review committee. Commissioners also reappointed Robert L. Moore to the Lake County Library District board of trustees for a seven-year term beginning March 24, 2026.
Finance presented resolutions approving payment of bills in the amount of $1,255,512.84 and approving purchase orders totaling $795,872.70; both measures were moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
Most of these items were introduced by county staff and approved without extended discussion; motions were moved and seconded and passed by roll call as recorded in the meeting transcript.
