The West Windsor Planning Board on March 19 approved minutes for its Feb. 19 and March 5 meetings, took one abstention on the Feb. 19 approval, discussed a pending dedication at Princeton University’s Lake Campus, and voted to close the public hearing and enter a closed session to discuss litigation.
Chair (first referenced as Chair) opened the regular meeting, read the public-notice statement into the record and invited public comment; no members of the public stepped forward. A meeting participant asked early in the session, "It's the fair share plan," seeking clarification about a housing program and its acronym, but no substantive agenda action on that topic occurred later in the meeting.
A committee member reported they had inquired about whether the planned dedication of the Lake Campus and a new facility would occur on April 25; the member said they had not seen confirmation on Princeton University’s events calendar and had copied a colleague on correspondence to the sports department. Other board members said they had not received invitations or additional information.
The board received liaison reports and noted that the environmental commission liaison was not present. Members also said the scheduled portable-housing meeting had been canceled and that there were no portable-housing updates this month.
A committee member moved to approve the Feb. 19 minutes, saying, "I'll move to approve the minutes for February 19." The motion was seconded; during roll call one member said they "abstain from voting," and the clerk recorded the eligible votes. The Chair announced the minutes were approved. Later, a committee member moved to approve the March 5 minutes; the clerk called the roll and the board approved those minutes as well.
The Chair announced that a listed resolution would not be considered that night and said it would be scheduled for a future meeting. Toward the end of the public portion the board voted to close the public hearing. A motion to enter closed session to discuss litigation was moved and seconded; the board voted in favor and prepared to end the public broadcast to proceed into closed session.
The board did not take further public action on the fair-share topic during the open portion of the meeting; the next procedural step recorded was the transition into closed session to discuss litigation.
