Snohomish County committee members on an unstated date heard presentations from council staff and, with no objections, moved four items to future consent agendas for formal consideration.
Jim Martin, identified in the meeting as council staff, told the committee that Motion 20654 would approve the 2026 local hotel‑motel fund round‑2 expenditure plan totaling $297,024 and would authorize the executive director to sign related agreements; staff requested the item be placed on the General Legislative Session (GLS) consent agenda on Feb. 18. "This motion approves the 2026 projects listed in the motion at a total amount of $297,024 and authorizes the executive director signature authority to sign agreements on behalf of Snohomish County," Martin said.
Martin also presented Motion 20660 asking the committee to approve cancellation of uncollectible personal property taxes under RCW 84.56.240. He reported $359,344.63 in 2021 prior personal property taxes and $63,098.36 in late‑filing penalties that have been deemed uncollectible, and requested moving the item to GLS on Feb. 18 for consideration.
On Motion 20674, Martin proposed approval of the 2026 Snohomish County tourism promotion area business plan, saying the plan reflects $2,610,652 in revenue and $3,369,172 in expenditures, with a projected fund balance of $9,258,768. He asked the committee to place that item on the Feb. 11 consent agenda.
Finally, Martin presented Motion 206083 to approve a 2026 operating agreement with the Amateur Athletics Commission, doing business as the Snohomish County Sports Commission, to market the county as a destination for amateur and professional events. The agreement was described as not to exceed $681,880 and running through Dec. 31, 2026; staff asked that it be moved to the Feb. 11 consent agenda.
The presiding officer asked for questions and objections after each presentation; none were raised and each item was scheduled for the stated GLS consent dates. The committee concluded its agenda and adjourned.
Next steps: the hotel‑motel fund plan and tax cancellation item were placed on the Feb. 18 consent agenda; the tourism business plan and the Sports Commission operating agreement were placed on the Feb. 11 consent agenda for consideration.
