The Town Council approved Resolution 26‑008 to authorize Mayor Mutter to engage CAM HDAC & Construction Inc. to replace the boiler at Station 1512 for an amount not to exceed $21,194.08.
The chief explained the station experienced boiler failures in January, technicians reported parts for the existing unit are obsolete and the equipment manufacturer has gone out of business. The chief said CAM HDAC is on the state MPA list and the town is also exploring energy‑efficient replacement options and possible rebates before final procurement.
Councilors approved the resolution by voice vote, 7–0, to allow work to proceed and to enable emergency repairs if needed in the interim.
The town will proceed with contracting and the chief indicated he will investigate energy‑efficient options and available rebates.
