Councilors said they prefer to keep businesses open while holding them accountable; several members favored a short extension and a clear deadline rather than denying the license. The council voted to extend the timeline for 30 days so the applicant can obtain the required plumbing sign‑off and for the building department to confirm completion.
The extension passed on a voice vote; council requested the applicant provide a progress update during the follow‑up period.
