The Kenai Peninsula Borough Planning Commission approved a petition Dec. 8 to vacate certain unused 10‑foot interior utility easements in the Stevens Subdivision plat after a staff report documented that existing utilities had been relocated and a 30‑foot anchor easement should be added to the plat drawing.
Staff told the commission that the easements originated with the parent plat (KN‑70‑611 and related documents), that some easements should be redrawn to a 20‑foot width consistent with the parent plat and that the Southwest corner of Lot 16 should retain a 30‑foot anchor easement. No members of the public testified on this item. A commissioner moved to grant the vacation incorporating staff findings and two conditions; the commission voted to approve the petition.
The permit action will be finalized once the plat drawing is updated to include the anchor easement and corrected easement widths as described in staff recommendations.
