During assembly discussion, Assemblymember Griebel moved an amendment replacing a specific enumerated list of acceptable presentation topics with a shorter standard: presentations should address “oversight and/or authorities granted to the assembly under borough code.” Griebel said the revision replaces a long, prescriptive list and “replaces it with oversight and or authorities granted to the assembly under borough code,” arguing it gives the president necessary guidance while avoiding a rigid checklist of topics.
