At its Feb. 5 meeting the Lake County Financial & Administrative Committee approved a series of fiscal and administrative items across the agenda.
• 8.19 — Emergency appropriations / carryovers: Michael Wheeler said the carryovers requested total about $20,000,000, largely grant dollars for projects not completed in FY2025. Motion by Member Clark, second by Member Hewitt; item approved.
• 8.2 — Line‑item transfers: Regina Tuzak said transfers align the 2025 budget with actual spend and do not increase the county’s total budget. Motion approved.
• 8.21 — HUD Community Project Funding grant: Committee authorized an emergency appropriation of a $4,000,000 HUD grant for the Sheridan Crossing environmental remediation (joint grant with City of North Chicago); county will act as conduit and ensure compliance with HUD requirements. Motion by Chair Parikh, second by Member Volitsik; item approved.
• 8.23 & 8.24 — Personnel reclassifications: The committee approved two HR reclassifications (position 34043 reclassified to assistant planning & zoning manager with ~ $30,000 annual increase; position 46014 reclassified to info systems compliance lead with ~5% increase and funded by a grant). • 8.25 — Sale of county property: Staff recommended sale of two adjacent county parcels in Mundelein (~5.6 acres) for $135,000, above appraised value; item approved.
