Jason Clark presented the district’s sixth and final Smart Schools Bond Act plan, saying the 2014 voter‑approved program awarded the district a little over $6 million and funded several prior projects. “This sixth and final plan ... we’ll have about a little over $316,000 to allocate towards ViewSonic boards,” Clark said, describing the proposal to replace aging projectors and boards that are near end of life.
Clark said the Smart Schools funds were restricted to instructional technology and infrastructure; the district’s technology committee and building‑level committees have guided spending. He told the board that the presentation would be posted to the district website and be open for a 30‑day public comment period before the district returns next month to finalize and submit the plan to the state for approval.
Board members asked no substantive questions, and Clark said the money will round out the district’s purchase of ViewSonic units and that remaining replacement purchases would be minimal after this allocation. The plan includes coordination with nonpublic schools as required by the program’s rules, Clark said.
