Program supervisor Armando Nava said the city hosted a "Know Your Rights" immigration workshop on Feb. 24 at the senior center in partnership with the Immigration Resource Center of the San Gabriel Valley; staff said the session was streamed on YouTube and is available on the city website.
Program supervisor Armando Nava told commissioners the city hosted a "Know Your Rights" immigration workshop in partnership with the Immigration Resource Center of the San Gabriel Valley on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at the senior center.
"The purpose of the workshop was to provide general information about individual rights and the available community resource for people impacted by current ICE activities," Nava said, and staff encouraged attendees to contact the resource center or the family service center for help and referrals.
Nava said the session was streamed live on YouTube and that the recording is now available on the city website for residents who prefer not to attend in person. He also said staff will continue to work with the resource center to hold future workshops and to guide community members to relevant services.
Commissioners had no further questions and Maria Moreno thanked Nava for the presentation.
