Board approves several change orders, amendments and a $1 million MAPS 3 allocation for Union Station

The MAPS for Citizens Advisory Board approved a package of routine items that included multiple change orders and an allocation of MAPS 3 funds for Union Station repairs.
Change orders and amendments approved by voice vote included:
• A $24,008.75 increase (Change Order No. 1) with Shiloh Enterprises for MAPS 4 Southlake Parks Improvement to reimburse permit billing and cover asbestos testing tied to demolition; the motion was approved by the board.
• Amendment No. 5 and Change Order No. 7 with Nash Construction for MAPS sidewalks and related amenities Phase 1a increasing the contract by $502,360.42. Staff said the increase covers concrete dye to blend with a historic area, cast‑iron tactile domes, sprinkler lines and meter boxes; a board member confirmed under‑run funds from earlier bids would cover the increase.
• Change Order No. 3 with Rudy Construction Company for MAPS 4 Innovation District connectivity Phase 1 increasing the contract by $86,694 to replace inlet grades for bicycle safety, rewire some traffic signals, add mass‑arm signage and account for calendar days at no cost.
• Change Order No. 5 with Crossland Construction Company for the MAPS 4 Family Justice Center increasing the contract by $23,481 to cover electrical adjustments, a chairlift power feed that was omitted from plans, additional communications cabling requested by police, and a brick alternate after the specified brick became unavailable.
The board also adopted a resolution allocating $1,000,000 from excess MAPS 3 capital improvement sales tax collections and/or interest to the Union Station renovation project to address HVAC, electrical and ADA issues and to improve main rooms. That resolution passed by motion.
