The board moved and the presiding officer declared the motion approved after a brief discussion. The resolution as read by the board secretary cited a preliminary qualification letter from the Michigan Department of Treasury dated 05/09/2025 that authorized the district to proceed with the application for bonds in an amount not to exceed $153,000,000. The resolution directs district staff to place the ballot propositions on the Aug. 5 ballot and directs the board secretary to give notices required by law.
Why it matters: If approved by voters, the bond would allow the district to borrow funds for capital and equipment projects across the district, including facility renovations, an addition to the transportation building, and technology upgrades.
