The Wyoming County Schools Board approved several routine items including the consent agenda, personnel recommendations and other operational updates at its meeting.
The superintendent presented a short consent agenda that included minutes from the July 28 meeting and extracurricular fundraising and bus requests; the board approved the consent agenda by voice vote after a motion and second.
The board approved a personnel list as presented after a motion and second. Personnel staff reported encouraging levels of newly certified applicants and ongoing testing and interviews for service personnel; bus‑operator training and additional substitutes were in progress. The personnel discussion covered scheduling for coaches, a train‑the‑trainer approach to avoid paying extra stipends for early-return staff, and emphasis on the employee and athletic codes of conduct.
Other routine updates included summer painting and waxing crews, delivery and processing of nine pallets of textbooks, principals’ leadership academy sessions and training to transition away from the unsupported LiveGrades gradebook to an internal gradebook system. Facilities updates included ongoing security‑entrance projects at multiple school sites with contractors scheduling site work; staff said they would seek to minimize disruptive work once students return.
The board set its next meeting for the 11th at 10:00 a.m. and adjourned after a motion to close the session.
