The Town of Southwest Ranches council approved issuing a purchase order to begin work on the town-hall fire-suppression pump.
Russell told the council he had a proposal from Railsback Pump for an overhaul of the system, including a new well and associated electronics, at a cost of $32,000 and requested authorization to issue a purchase order using FY26 funds so the contractor can order supplies.
A council member moved to approve issuing the purchase order and another member seconded the motion. The clerk conducted a roll-call vote; each member answered "Yes," and the chair announced the motion passed. Russell said he will bring a formal resolution to the council at the next meeting to finalize the authorization.
The motion authorizes administrative procurement up to the stated proposal amount so work can begin and materials be ordered; the formal resolution will appear on a future agenda.
