Council approves historic-designations, EPA-funded wastewater project and other ordinances (7–0)
Summary

The Erie City Council on Feb. 18 voted unanimously on a slate of final-passage ordinances that included historic-property designations and funding appropriations.
In roll-call votes, council passed ordinances designating two properties as historic structures: 411 State Street (official ordinance 12-20-26) and 1372 West 6th Street (official ordinance 13-20-26). Both passed by recorded yays of 7–0.
The council also approved an appropriation of $1,250,000 in unanticipated revenue to fund the City of Erie wastewater treatment plant chlorination/disinfection reliability project, funded by U.S. EPA grant number 953A0104 (official ordinance 14-20-26). The vote was 7–0.
Separately, members approved a $1,050,000 appropriation from the business development revolving loan fund to the urban core economic recovery revolving loan fund (official ordinance 15-20-26) and a rules amendment aimed at improving legislative efficiency (official ordinance 16-20-26). All final-passage votes were recorded 7–0.
What changed: The historic designations amend the City of Erie zoning map under Article 7 of the zoning ordinance and authorize the city solicitor to prepare implementing language. The EPA grant appropriation allocates federal grant funds to a specific infrastructure project at the wastewater plant.
Next steps: For each final-passage ordinance the city will implement the changes through administrative steps described by the solicitor and department staff; the zoning map will be revised to reflect the historic-site designations.
Vote record (selected): "City council passed official file ordinance number 12-20-26 finally by yays, 7 nays, 0," the clerk announced for the first historic designation; similar roll-call language was used for the subsequent final-passage items.
