Bryant window project nearing completion; transportation reports smooth first day of bussing

A facilities presenter told the Board of Education of the Superior School District on Sept. 2 that the Bryant window renovation is roughly 90% complete. The presenter said two stairwell windows remain to be installed and supply constraints mean those should go in the week of Sept. 15; the work has included replacement of about 65 windows, brick repair, curtain-wall work, structural steel and roof work and replacement of three doors.
Staff emphasized that the remaining work is mainly finishing and quality-assurance tasks and that most follow-up will occur on weekends or after hours to avoid disrupting students. A board member said plans are in place for drop-off and pickup while finishing work continues.
On transportation, staff reported that bus operations for the first day of school "actually went really well" and that the district is preparing for upcoming activities such as a "haunted bus" event. Staff also said a recent negotiation with the district's auto-payment vendor generated roughly $10,000 in savings.
The operations and transportation reports were informational; no formal action was taken aside from routine committee acknowledgement.
