The Planning and Zoning Commission on Dec. 17 unanimously approved SUP25‑83409, allowing a 910‑square‑foot secondary living unit at 3409 Shorewood Court on a 0.851‑acre RS‑7.2 lot.
Senior planner Cecilia Nelson presented the request and said the proposal includes a 175‑square‑foot covered porch and meets setback requirements. Applicant Miranda Lamb said the unit would let her retired father downsize while keeping family close and that the home will also provide future housing for a brother with special needs.
Commissioner Ware moved to approve the specific‑use permit; Commissioner Findlay seconded and the commission voted 7–0. Staff told the applicant to follow usual permitting requirements and obtain a building permit before construction begins.
What it means: the approval permits the homeowner to construct a separate secondary living unit on the property under RS‑7.2 rules, allowing the family flexibility for multigenerational living and future care of a family member with special needs.
