The Citizens Advisory Committee scheduled a Waterfront Park cleanup and discussed outreach to local river-tour operators as part of broader efforts to promote community events.
The Chair announced the cleanup will start at 8:00 a.m.; the Chair offered to supply refreshments, saying, “I’ll get donuts and coffee.” The city will supply garbage bags and volunteers were asked to bring gloves and pickers if they can. The cleanup is intended to help prepare the park ahead of the seafood festival.
Separately, several committee members reported meeting two river-tour operators who were at town hall and discussed inviting them to the next CAC meeting to outline capacities, pricing and the kinds of tours they could provide. Committee members asked the operators to describe whether they offer historical or narrated tours, passenger limits and any discounted options for community events.
Next steps: the committee will publicize the March/April cleanup volunteer opportunity, collect supplies from the city, and invite the river-tour operators to the next meeting to present their offerings.
