"We've selected... a deputy to be our next K‑9 officer, and we're upgrading a car for him," the sheriff said.
The department launched a "Warrant Wednesday" initiative that posts individuals with outstanding warrants to the sheriff's website and Facebook page; the sheriff said two names were posted last week and two this week and that one of the four posted individuals has been apprehended. He reported four fleet vehicles currently exceed 100,000 miles and described an overall fleet total number given in the meeting.
Commissioners thanked the sheriff for the update; no action was requested of the board on these operational items.
