Chair Cosgrove opened the March 4 meeting of the San Clemente Planning Commission and introduced a staff announcement that the commission said would affect upcoming agendas.
Adam Atamian, the city’s Director of Community Development, told the commission that “Zach Rehm is appointed as our acting city planner.” The commission and staff thanked Rehm for stepping into the role; Atamian described Rehm as having been with the planning division for “about a year and a half” and praised his work.
The appointment was presented during the meeting’s oral and written communications period and will take effect immediately to support planning staff work on pending items that include accessory dwelling unit (ADU) code amendments and zoning updates related to urban lot splits and two‑unit projects.
No formal vote was recorded at the meeting for the appointment; staff indicated Rehm will assist the commission at future hearings and in interim staff functions.
